The Hospice :
- A team of
full-time nursing care staff headed
by the Medical Director who is
a onsultant in palliative medicine
endeavours to provide physical comfort,
pain control and emotional support.
- The medical and
nursing care are provided on a
24-hour basis.
- Patients are free
to practice their own religions and
may also seek counselling and
spiritual support from the centre
if they wish to.
- Follow-up care are
provided for discharged patients if
required
- Bereavement support
are provided
Criteria for
admission :
- Cancer patients whose pain
and other symptoms are difficult to
control at home
- Cancer patients whose carers
at home need a period of
respite
- Cancer patients who have
no carers
- Cancer patients who seek
spiritual care
All
admissions need a referral letter
from a medical doctor.
